Project Overview
This project was to design and simulate a sixty second counter display using synchronous counters. The design has to have two inputs which are the clock and the reset meaning when the count reaches 60 it resets.

Final conclusions
The difference between asynchronous and synchronous is that synchronous has no rippels so its more accurate also the 163 can only count up . Synchronous counters are also connected to the same clock and are actually more faster than the asynchronous counters. The differenced between 163 and 193 is that 163 counts just up as I said earlier an it resets at any number you want it to. 193 logic counts either up or down also when u simulate it and design you will have to count either up one or down one depending on which counter it is. To design my sixty second counter I used flip flops which are 74ls76N gates. I connected them each to an LED light which all lights are powered to Q. I connected all of my clears to a ls10 so when you power it with a switch it will start at 0. For the next counter which is the ones display I used a 163 gate powered with a clock. I used two lso4 which are inverters to make my counter in the ones digit stop at 9. To make my switch toggle and work for both of my circuits I connected an and gate to my flip flop and I also connected it to the other counter which was called the decade counter. None of my friends/ classmates had the same they used many different gates than I did some of my classmates used more than I did also.
